Bacterial glycosylation has been described in recent years although I 
am aware of no report of protein glycosylation in E. coli. For 
instance O-linked Man with Rha, etc has been described in 
Flavobacterium (JBC vol. 270, p. 13192 and 13197) and some 
form of N-linked glycosylation has been described in Streptococcus 
(JBC vol. 268, p. 23780). References are contained in these papers to 
other forms of prokaryote protein glycosylation.
