The position is available at DTU Food in the Division of Epidemiology and Microbial Genomics, the group of Epidemiology and Risk Modeling. The activities of the division include many aspects of zoonotic risks in relation to food safety, including development and implementation of genomic sequencing, bioinformatics and computational modeling of the occurrence of zoonotic microbiological hazards in the whole farm to consumer chain.
The position is affiliated with an initiative funded by the Ministry of Food Agriculture and Fisheries with the overall aim to establish the scientific basis for predicting the effect of interventions of antimicrobial usage in pig herds on the occurrence of resistance in zoonotic pathogens.
In addition, the research assistant can expect to be involved ad hoc in other research projects.
Applicants should have a master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
The applicant must be able to work with high accuracy both practically and with documentation in all tasks ranging from collecting samples to organise the collected data into a database.
Previous involvement in large uncontrolled field studies including collection of samples in pig farms is weighted positively but is not a necessity.
