The Imperial College Infection Technology group led by Dr. Pantelis Georgiou is recruiting for an exciting new RA position within the area of rapid diagnostic technology. The aim of the project is to design a portable rapid diagnostic system for detection of infectious diseases using CMOS microelectronic technology. The detection platform combines microchip technology and isothermal amplification to deliver a novel solution capable of detecting pathogenic DNA/RNA in a mobile system at the point-of-care. This is a multidisciplinary project which combines Engineering and Medicine and targets infectious diseases in Low-Middle Income countries such as Tuberculosis, Dengue and Malaria.
