I've been using PostgreSQL (http://www.postgresql.org/) as well as ACEdb
(http://probe.nalusda.gov:8000/aboutacedbsoft.html) for my current project
at Cornell University.

I'd be happy to start/take part in a thread on biological databasing!!!!
