Hassan,
This is somewhat a "religous" question, as most folks using
automated sequencers know their brand better than others. I would
suggest that you visit labs in Paris that have automated sequencers
and discuss the pros and cons with local users. Personally, we have
4 ABI's, run them twice a day, and are quite pleased with the results.
Clearly template quality is the major variable that must be optimized
to yield the highest quality data on any instrument and protocols for
isolating sequence quality templates are available. My own preference
is for the ABI, but Pharmacia and Lycor also have very good instruments.
The Amersham sequencer is fairly new and not yet as widely used as the
others. ABI has established itself as the standard for the industry,
by virtue of it's large market share but do look at the others to see
which fits your needs the best.
Cheers......bruce
Disclamer - ABI gives me nothing but a hard time...... :-)
