Faculty Position in Computational Biology

I would like to make potential applicants aware of the following faculty position at the Keck Graduate Institute in
Los Angeles.

Applications with an interest in network simulation, analysis or theory, including metabolic, signal transduction and
gene networks are encouraged to apply. Applicants with a background in Math, Biology and Computer Science or Control
Theory but with an interest in Computational Biology may apply.

Faculty in computational biology/bioinformatics and the modeling of complex biological systems, with the dedication to
excellence in teaching and research, are sought at all levels, particularly the junior level. Successful candidates
will be creative and independent in spirit with significant experience in academic or industrial science and/or
engineering, and a desire to build interdisciplinary groups. They will be expected to establish a high quality
research program, create and teach in a strong educational program and forge connections with industry (e.g.,
biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biomedical instrumentation). The faculty of the Institute comes from both industry and
academia. Expertise in the analysis of gene or protein expression data and in pathway and network modeling would be of
particular interest. Competitive salaries, excellent facilities, liberal leave and consulting policies also contribute
to the spirit of this startup institution.
