Practicum on In Vitro Cell Biology Workshop
October 9-12, 2001.
ATCC staff will be teaching an intensive course on cells in culture,
featuring lectures and demonstrations. Some hands-on activities will be
included but emphasis is on visual and verbal exposure to the
An introduction to primary cell culture will cover the following:
Examples for differentiated populations
Media and substrates
Cell lines and hybridomas
An in-depth look at quality control will include information on
microbial and viral testing as well as isoenzymology, flow cytometric
analyses, and STR fingerprinting for
identification of cell types and function.
More advanced methodologies and reviews will include:
