Gene Quantification Newsletter - 10/2002
October 2002
Introduction:
Main focus of the GENE QUANTIFICATION web
page http://www.wzw.tum.de/gene-quantification/ is, to describe and
summarize all technical aspects involved in quantitative gene expression
analysis using real-time (kinetic) PCR & RT-PCR: e.g. detection
chemistry, assay specificity, sensitivity, reproducibility, robustness,
intra- & inter-assay variations, kinetic PCR efficiency calculation,
quantification strategies, optimisation strategy, data calculation and
statistics, etc. etc.
The GENE QUANTIFICATION web page illustrates the usefulness of reliable
quantification strategies, e.g. absolute-, relative-quantification assays,
and the difference between them in kinetic PCR & kinetic RT-PCR.
Main focus of the PHYSIOLOGY web page is, to describe all kind of kinetic
RT-PCR applications in molecular Physiology, molecular Endocrinology, and
molecular Immunology (mainly mammary gland immunology) are summarized on my
new homepage http://www.wzw.tum.de/gene-quantification/physiology.shtml
