[Bio-software] Web-based courses in computational biology

This is an update on the distance courses offered by the University of 
Manchester, UK.

The next courses begin on 4 October 2010.  Bioinformatics for Systems
(http://octette.cs.man.ac.uk/bioinformatics/modules/BIOL61820.html) and 
Introduction to software development in Java 
(http://octette.cs.man.ac.uk/bioinformatics/modules/bs6250.html) are
already full, but there are still places available on :

Introduction to Health Informatics
Computational Systems Biology

You can also book early for the courses running in March 2011.  The
March courses will include :

Introduction to software development in Java
Mathematics for metabolic modelling
Introduction to BioHealth Informatics
Introduction to microarray data analysis
Databases and data modelling
Object-oriented analysis and design with UML

A course may be studied as an individual unit, or you can choose to
register for a formal qualification.  Those wishing to progress to the
MSc will complete a supported research project.  Examples of projects
that have been published in a range of journals are listed here :
