The Forum Bioinformatics 2008 is part of the Fraunhofer Life Science
Symposium „Ischemia and Regeneration“ to be held in Leipzig on October
24-25th at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology.
The organization committee aims to present current projects in
bioinformatics to foster networking and scientific exchange of know-
how and novel approaches in this dynamically evolving segment of the
Life Science Industry.
Bioinformatics in universities, research institutions and businesses
plays an ever more important role, particularly in the field of red
biotechnology in centres of Life Science research at Leipzig, Jena,
Halle, Magdeburg and Dresden. By developing tailor-made solutions for
the Life Science community, which provide solutions to problems of
biotechnology utilizing computer-assisted methods, bioinformatics has
become an indispensable part of drug development, protein design and
analytics.
