Introduction to Bioinformatics, March 2005

The distance learning course, Introduction to Bioinformatics, will begin
again in March 2005. The course covers the use of the most popular
software for sequence analysis.
This course in one of a series of Masters level modules from the
University of Manchester, UK. The modules may be studied either
individually, or as elements of the full MSc in Bioinformatics.
The modules follow two themes, Bioinformatics and Computer Science. The
Bioinformatics modules are:
Introduction to Molecular Biology for Computer Scientists
Introduction to Bioinformatics
Introduction to Microarray Data Analysis
Theory and Applications in Bioinformatics
The Bioinformatics of Protein Structure
The Science of Proteomics
Molecular Modelling and Structure-based Drug Design
The computing modules are:
Introduction to programming (C or Java)
Intermediate Java
Biocomputing
Object-oriented analysis and design with UML
