Mac G5 Blast

Hi,
Does anyone have BLAST running on a G5?  Is there any advantage over a
linux box with a pair of  3GHz chips ( Ihave a linux box with 2 1GHz
chips now)?  
I'm looking for the simplest way to run a large number of BLAST
searches without going to a cluster.
