Weighbor ("weighted neighbor joining", Bruno, Socci & Halpern,
MolBiolEvol 17:189 (2000)) is a free program for reconstructing
phylogenetic trees from sequence data.
Yesterday we completed version 1.2, which includes bug fixes
plus speed improvements and better i/o robustness.
In our tests on random trees, weighbor performs better
than traditional neighbor joining and BIONJ. C source
code and a linux executable are currently available.
The program is designed to be fully phylip compatible.
