A new Java applet for the backtranslation of protein sequences into DNA
sequences is available at
http://www.entelechon.com/english/backtrans.html
It has a graphical user interface and allows to automatically download codon
usage tables from the codon usage database. You can fine-tune the codon
usage by setting the codon biases for each amino acid separately. This can
be done simply by dragging the codon ratio indicators with the mouse.
The Java applet can be used to easily setup nucleotide sequences for
heterologous expression. The protein and DNA sequences can easily be copied
and pasted, allowing for fast results.
