SQA Engineer - Web Applications
Location : California, Bay Area
Salary :  $ open, plus benefits


Client develops an innovative knowledge management tool that provides timely
access to relevant biological data.
Client product is a fully referenced knowledge base of experimental findings
extracted from top tier scientific journals and structured to facilitate
easy access and navigation. In this knowledge base captures key information
needed to identify, prioritize and evaluate potential drug targets. The
information will be stored in object-relational databases and will be
delivered through flexible and intuitive front-end applications.



 As a Web Application SQA Engineer, you will be responsible for developing
automated test suites for our web applications using Segue's SilkTest. Your
responsibilities will include: designing and developing automated test
suites (including functional, regression and scalability tests) from test
plans; running the test suites; reporting, tracking and verifying bugs;
working closely with knowledge engineers during all phases of product
development. In general, you will provide quality assessments of our product
and development practices during all phases of product development.

Requirements:
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies.
Experience developing user-level (or GUI driven) application test suites.
Experience developing test suites using automation test tools such as
Segue's SilkTest (or QAPartner), Mercury Interactive's WinRunner or
Rational. SilkTest experience is strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related major. 2+ years experience.
Desired skills:

Experience developing tests for web-based applications strongly preferred.
Experience with Java or Perl is a plus.
Experience with XML is a plus.
Experience developing multi-user (scalability) application test suites
preferred.
Experience with Windows NT and/or Solaris is a plus.
Experience in testing bioinformatics tools a strong plus.
