Believe me, spam mail is NOTHING compared to the clutter
that mailing lists add to your mailbox. I have been
subscribing to one mailing list in which half of the
messages are from people who haven't read the instructions
for subscribing or unsubscribing and send a the entire
group asking to be subscribed or unsubscribed.
Specialized news readers, such as the one in Netscape
communicator let you do things like following (or deleting)
entire threads, sorting messages etc.
The difference between news and mail is best summarized
by the old adage "use the right tool for the right job."
