I'm sorry I don't know of any that's free but you could use software from
http://www.softwarewedge.com/
but it costs money.
I've used their software to do exactly as you ask. Keep in mind some balances
may require special adapters from the manufacturer while others do not.

I search a free soft to capture the data on the rs232 port.
