Flip 2.0
WHAT IS FLIP
------------
Flip is a Unix C program used to find/translate orfs. Flip translates
and reformats DNA sequences. The produced output files can be used by
other programs such as BBLAST (Pierre Rioux, 1994, a batch version of
BLAST (Altschul et al, J. Mol.Biol. 215, 403-410), FASTA (W. Pearson,
Methods enzymol. 183, 63-68), NIP (Queen & Korn, Nucl. Acids Res., 12,
581-599) for further analysis.
LATEST VERSION
--------------
The most recent verison of flip is flip 2.0. Changes from version 1.9
include:
- Fixed memory allocation bug that made flip crash on empty
contigs
- Added command line switches:
-n: number each header in flip's output files to facilitate result
browsing
-F: modifies slightly the format of some of the output files of flip
HOW DO I GET IT ?

The latest version of the flip package can always be obtained by ftp
at the address:

Flip's complete documentation can be fetched by ftp from:

flip.doc is included in flip's distribution.
REQUIREMENTS
------------
- In order to compile the source code, you need a Unix C compiler
(either gcc or cc).
