I don't have to hack my own Bibtex bst files ?!?!?!
I have been doing just that for a while. Of course, to get
those last periods and commas just right you can simply
edit the .bbl file trivially with a text editor.
More seriously, is there anyplace with documentation on
the bibtex bst "language" that is better than that which comes
with the distribution ? I figured out how to get what I needed
done, but it is one unusual stack based language.
