The recent decision of Netscape to release the source code for the next
version of their browser prompts me to suggest that it might be a good
time for this community to think about developing a version of this web
browser that incorporated various standard (or soon to be
standard) biological markup languages and generally useful specialized
viewers (eg. sequence viewer, PDB viewer etc.). I can already think of
many uses for a such a bio-browser which obviates the need to distribute
plugins or large basic-function applets.
N'est pas?
