Please try ClustalX, based on ClustalW1.7. It gives you a graphic
user interface (based on Vibrant interface so available for most
platforms including MAC). It can calculate the alignment or read an
existing one (in various format including the GCG9 ones). It widely easier
to use and give a better access to advanced feature.
It uses a default coloring scheme, but you can easily define
your own. It also provide some statistical tools for quality analysis.
You can save it as a postscript file so printing it easily with
drop.ps or similar Mac postscript tool.
ClustalX publication will appear in NAR vol 25 issue 24.
