Which version of GDE is it that you have installed on your
machine? Some time ago, after very few changes to the sources,
I have been able to install GDE V 2.2 on the Linux boxes that
are used here, and with the exception of the MFOLD code (sorry,
I'm not fluent in FORTRAN), it works fine. Please have a look
at
ftp://ftp.rhrz.uni-bonn.de/pub/institute/meb/molbio/linux
The tar file GDE-2.2-Linux.tar.gz holds just my current
source tree (some packages included in GDE 2.2 have been
updated since GDE 2.2 has been released; I have not included
the current versions of those...). Please forgive me: this
package is not tidy right now (I'm lacking the time needed to
provide a clean package, but I'll look into this ASAP).
Under all circumstances, unpack the sources into a "special"
subdirectory and keep your original copy of GDE (I'll provide
the unmodified sources at the place indicated above, but right
now, I don't have them available...).
Ther "binary" tar file holds nothing but the binaries...
