Program DYNAFIT [1] for the statistical analysis of enzyme kinetic and
receptor binding data can be downloaded the BioKin Ltd. web site [2].
The program is useful for fitting the following types of experimental
data:
* initial reaction velocities in enzyme assays;
* equilibrium composition of complex mixtures;
* reaction progress (concentration or a related quantity vs. time).
The reaction mechanism is described symbolically, in the form of
chemical stoichiometric equations. For example, tight-binding,
mixed-type, noncompetitive enzyme inhibition is notated as follows
(E...enzyme,
S...substrate, I...inhibitor):
[mechanism]
E + S <===> ES
ES ---> E + P
E + I <===> EI
ES + I <===> ESI
ESI ---> EI + P
A reviewer [3] wrote: "Perhaps the most impressive feature is the
extensive set of sample script files that serves as a tutorial for
enzyme kinetics and receptor-ligand reactions. If you do any kind of
kinetic data analysis as part of your research program, be sure to
download DynaFit from the
BioKin Web site."
