Have you tried Microsoft's Internet Assistant for Word? Have not tried
it myself, but it is supposed to be a (free) add-in for word that lets
you save the document directly to an HTML file from within word.

You can download it from their web site at:
http://www.microsoft.com/word/internet/ia/

Hope this helps.
