I hate to tell you, but a subscription to Nature will alleviate this and
prevent any improprieties. 

I myself am getting the new Reference Manager for $99 (student price),
and I think it has the capture mode included (this is something I need
for my paperwork, not a toy).  I am not, however, willing to buy and
send it to someone else.  Academic prices are meant for those who can't
afford the software as much as the everyday customer, and by buying and
sending that program, I (or anyone in the academic community) risk the
possible loss of this priviledge (software companies are very fickle
when it comes to pirated software, and, yes, this falls into that
category).
