	You don't need a big box to make such programms work
properly. You need a big UNIX box if you want to maintain
local databases and searching on it, but those databases are
available via the net, so it's not necessary. 
	Always remember that such programms gives you a good 
and stable environment for work, with
good tools. You can also have to add some updated free
programms to those, like ClustalW and Phylip (if you
need to do good phylogenetic analysis).

	Stay on a UNIX box, because it gives you the
maximum flexibility to update tools and implement new
ones.
