The MacBOB programs (CABIOS - in press)

MacBOB (Macintosh Blast Output Browser) is designed to be used to view
the results of database search files, be they from blast or fasta
searches. It presents the results in a two pane window. The upper pane
shows the list of "significant" hits. The lower pane shows the
alignment corresponding to the hit currently selected in the upper
pane. If Internet Config is properly installed, then MacBOB can
optionally retrieve sequences of interest from SRS servers. Individual
alignments can also be saved to disk file.

MacBOB Filter is a utility designed to be used in conjunction with
MacBOB. It takes a series of database search files and scans them
briefly for hits. Having found the hits, it compares the significance
scores reported in the file against a pre-defined user-specified
cut-off limit and displays a list of files that contain hits that
exceed that criteria. Those files can then be opened in MacBOB with a
click on a single button in the Filter window.

MacBOB & MacBOB Filter are freeware but copyright remains the property of
the Roslin Institute. You can download them from

<ftp://ftp.ri.bbsrc.ac.uk/pub/software/MacBOB> (definitely)

or via a (series of) link(s) from
