the paradigms of gene discovery for the 21st century. From laboratory
information management systems and database development to user
interfaces and gene analysis through computational biology,
bioinformatics scientists and software engineers are on the cutting edge
of HGS's research and development efforts. We continue to develop
information management solutions to identify novel proteins of
therapeutic value from our database of over one million Expressed
Sequence Tags.
We have an opening for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER or BIOINFORMATICS SCIENTIST
in our growing world-class Bioinformatics Group in Rockville, Maryland.
This position will be filled by someone with experience collecting,
managing, and integrating data from high throughput screening assays and
related laboratory instrumentation in the biotechnology or
pharmaceutical industries. Industry experience is essential. Experience
with GLP/GMP laboratory environments/instrumentation and documentation
is highly desirable. The selected candidate must be comfortable in both
the computer and biological spheres and have a proven experience in
database design and software development using C/C++, perl or Java.
Excellent communication skills are a must. A Ph.D. degree in either
biological or computer sciences is preferred for the Bioinformatics
Scientist position.
