Populus replacement for Mac?

Greetings, and thanks very much to all those who helped with my last
question (finding Strider 1.0).

I've been asked to find a Populus replacement for the Mac. Can you help
with any suggestions? Here's what I know so far:

Populus is a free program for DOS and Windows, available at
<ftp://ecology.ecology.umn.edu/pub/populus/>. It is used for population
modelling and I-don't-know-what-else; I don't have a PC to run it on.

On the Mac, I've looked at Madonna and like it a lot; it's a general
modelling program for the Mac, available at
<http://www.kagi.com/authors/madonna/default.html>. A free version is
available; the identical but PPC-native version is commercial.
Stella <http://www.hps-inc.com/> is a good, but expensive and complex,
general systems-modelling program. I'd like to know what else is out
there before I make a final recommendation.

Thanks a lot,

Ethan
