The FASTA package, available from ftp://ftp.virginia.edu/pub/fasta, includes programs for aligning sequences (pairwise only), searching databases, and simple secondary structure prediction and hydrophobicity plots. Versions run on Unix, DOS/Win95, and the Macintosh. Bill Pearson
