Software on Mac

I am surprised that none of the posting so far mentioned DNASTAR
(www.dnastar.com).

We are using it here in EMBL, although we have also GCG, and the
users are pretty happy with it. It is not drammatically expensive,
and although it is lacking the "design mode" of the Vector NTI,
and although its way of handling the "database updating" is not
sufficient for our needs, I definetively think is really worth.

Moreover, it is available both for Macs and PC and the licensing
is done crossplatform (this is what they say ...), using a dongle
on a mac server.

This is not a DNASTAR advertisement, is just a technical consultancy.

Contact me directly for further infos.

(e.g. it is not possible to have automatic reports on how often it
is used ... although it is possible to look at the current usage of
the licenses interactively ... :-) therefore is not very manager-
friendly ... )
