GENE CODES CORPORATION, the premier developer of software for sequencing
DNA, is seeking one junior and two senior level programmers for advanced
product development.
Gene Codes Corp. develops and markets superior software for molecular
biologists. SEQUENCHER has become a software standard at major sequencing
facilities around the world (including Human Genome Sciences, the Salk
Institute, Amgen, Genentech, CIBA, GLAXO and the Bristol-Myer Squibb
Pharmaceutical Research Institute, to name a few). We are looking for
self-motivated, highly skilled team players to work on exciting
enhancements to existing products and additional programs at various stages
of design and development. You will have the opportunity to contribute to
strategic programming projects with state-of-the-art development
technologies.
JUNIOR LEVEL PROGRAMMER. Successful candidate will have at least 2 years
of programming experience on the Macintosh computer, solid knowledge of C
and object-oriented methodologies. Experience with sequence-manipulation
algorithms will be a plus, as will experience on other platforms.
SENIOR LEVEL PROGRAMMER. Candidates should be fluent in C with at least 5
years professional experience and an academic background in computer
science or engineering. An academic background in laboratory science will
also be considered with sufficient software experience. Experience on the
Macintosh, Windows and Unix will all be important, and a history of
developing projects to completion on at least two of these platforms is
required. Cross-platform development experience, technical knowledge of
network software design (ppp, TCP/IP, etc.) and some experience with
component-ware architecture a definite plus.
