Try "httpd4mac", available from info-mac archives: No CGI, no Perl
interface, no applescript support, BUT it WORKS for plain old HTML and
images, takes very little memory and it is FREE! Not bad. We have our
lab pages running on a Mac Quadra 800 using it:

For more info about the server see:

(Bill Mellotti, The Author of httpd4mac has a home page for server info)
