Call for help:
We have this Molecular Dynamics scanner analysing 2D gel data with
PDQUEST software on a Sun Sparc 1. We are considering upgrading the system
and have been advised by Pharmacia, the current owners of the software, to
upgrade the Sun to a Sparc 20 running Solaris 2.x and the Syquest software
to version 5 (from 3.2).
If possible, we would like to shift platforms at this point. Does anyone
know whether PDquest will run on a DEC Alpha? If not, does anyone know of
alternative software that will do the same job? I already know about NIH
Image for Macs (use it and like it) but in this case we need a Unix
machine for other purposes.
