The 3rd International Symposium on Functional Dyes, to be held July
16-21, 1995 at University of California at Santa Cruz, will be sponsored
by CSA (Chemical Services and Applications) of IBM Almaden Research
Center. Functional dyes refers to compounds with pi-electron systems
in general which have interesting properties that may lead to useful
applications in information recording, displays, energy conversion, etc.
The emphasis for the coming 3rd Symposium will be on novel functional
materials, functional dyes in biological applications and computer
aided design of functional dyes. It will have special sessions on
BIOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS, MOLECULAR MODELLING, NOVEL FUNCTIONAL
MATERIALS and new applications.
Attendence of over 600 people, with a good mixture of academic, industrial
and goverment participation is expected. Provision of booths for
commercial exhibits are planned. UC Santa Cruz should be a pleasant
setting in the summer and we invite you and your customers to participate.
