DICROPROT software for Windows
by Gilbert Deleage (deleage at ibcp.fr)
Don't hesitate to contact me in case of problems, bugs or suggestions.
This DICROPROT program is designed to predict the secondary structure of
proteins from their experimental circular dichroism spectra. The program
allows to fit experimental data with different kinds of models. The program
is only compatible with the Jobin Yvon ASCII files but a way to input user
data in a very simple format (*.DIC) is also given. The program is
distributed with no warranty of success.
Main features:
-------------
- Up to 15 spectra are superimposable
- Baseline or concentration corrections
- Jobin-Yvon ASCII files support (load and save)
- Fully graphic and interactive sizable window and cursor
- Printing outputs, clipboard copy
- BMP files generated
- Spreadsheet for measuring ellipticities at the cursor
position and transfer into a grapher (lines, dots,
histograms,...)
Associated program: The Johnson method (variable selection) is included
into the package and a graphical interface is
provided.(anonymous ftp to ucs.orst.edu)

DICROPROT requirements:
- About 3Mo of disk space
- 8Mo RAM welcome. Windows 3.1 or 95 (16bit mode)
Installation
------------
All the .EXE files must be FTP'ed in binary format.
1) Get dicro.exe in binary mode
2) Execute dicro.exe (self extracting archives)
3) Remove dicro.exe after exploding the files to recover disk
space.
4) Launch dicropro.exe
