There is a very inexpensive program available at the University of
California, San Diego Book Store. I don't know of any other locations.
As I remember it ran about $15.00 and came with an excellent manual. The
software was designed specifically for Bio-Applications. It is called "A
Primer for Biostatistics". The version I had ran on the MAC and I'm not
sure if they had a Windows/PC version available. I'm sure you can
contact the UCSD Bookstore, in fact, UCSD has a Gopher site and the
bookstore has a specific link to that. Good Luck! Good stats packages,
that are easy to use, powerful, and have good documentation are hard to
find if you don't feel like paying $700.00+.
