The data images for Entrez 16.0 are now on line, and are available to Network
Entrez users. The CD-ROMs containing these data will be received by most
CD-ROM subscribers in 10-20 days. The Entrez 16.0 dataset contains
approximately 17% more data than the Entrez 15.0 dataset. This unusual
growth is largely due to a huge increase in the number of Expressed Sequence
Tags (ESTs) which now appear in GenBank.
You can verify that you are using dataset 16.0 by selecting
"About Entrez ...", pressing the "More" button, and then reading the text
window.
For a limited time, the Entrez 15.0 dataset will remain online.
WWW Entrez users can also access the Entrez 16.0 data set. The URL for
WWW Entrez is http://atlas.nlm.nih.gov:5700/Entrez/index.html.
No new Network Entrez client software will be distributed at this time, but
please be sure to try installing the Entrez 3.010 clients if you haven't
already done so. As a reminder, the URLs for the README file and supported
