I am looking for software to run on a 286 interfaced via rs-232 with a
Hitachi U-2000 spectrophotometer. The software must be capable of a
wavelength scan, finding the second derivative of the scan with a moving
least-squares algorithm, and finally identifying peaks and plotting the
amplitude of the peaks in a standard curve.

If anyone has a source for this type of software, please email me.

If you're curious why we need all this capability, we are doing nitrate
determination using a method described in the following article. It shows
great promise with detection limits all the way down to 0.5 uM.

Crumpton, WG; Isenhart, TM; Mitchell, PD. Nitrate and organic N analyses
with second-derivative spectroscopy. Limnology and Oceanography, 37(4),
1992, 907-913.

Thanks in advance for any help.
