We have seen the demo of HelixScan from Helix, a division of General
Atomics, and bought a copy. It does superb work on their sample file, but
we still have some problems having it open our TIFF files generated by a
Fuji PhosphorImager. Basically, it does automatic base calling once you
have specified the position of the lanes. Yes, its supposed to run on a
powerMac.

DNA ProScan Inc. also have something working on the Mac, but its almost as
pricey as HelixScan, and it requires manually clicking on the each band.
