The program you are probably looking for is MacCurveFit.  It is shareware
and available on Gopher.  Use Veronica to search for maccurvefit1.07
This program allows you to fit standard functions or any function of
your own as long as it is defined in the range of your data.  It provides
plots to show the goodness of fit, although the graphs may not have all
the convenient features of CricketGraph.  The fitted parameters are 
computed with standard errors.  You also get some other statistical
output.   If you want something more fancy, then you have to stick to
commercial programs like Maple IV, Mathematica, Matlab, etc.
