VMS users should also be aware that the BLAST in GCG v 8.0 can be used as a
client (or run against local BLAST databases). So far, we have not
encountered any problems with the GCG BLAST on VMS (/AXP 6.1). The only
slightly awkward part is that to use some of the Unix command line switches
on the server they must be placed on the command line between the quotes as
in:
/append=" -overlap "
Whereas with Mike's (previous) version the whole command line matched the
Unix version of the BLAST programs, and so had a consistent style throughout.
