dear bionet'ers
I use the RIBBON soft of John Priestle to generate drawings of protein
structures (postcript files). However I would like to have color plots
and one possibility is to make vectorized background files (typically eight
files are created) and displaying them with FRODO on Evans and Sutherland
systems.
I do not have FRODO but we have InsightII (BIOSYM) running on a Silicon
Graphics computer which can read MDL files (Molecular Design, .mol or .sd),
Sybyl, PDB and CSD (Cambridge) files.
We also have a Mac with various softs such as Rasmol, Photoshop, Graphics
converter .....
Is it possible to display the vectorized files created with RIBBON on the
SGI or on a Mac. Or in other words, is it possible to change the format of the
files to read them. I remember that a soft called BABEL ? could do this kind
of interconversion?
Thanks in advance for your help
