The UH Gene-Server will be down from 6 PM Friday until 12:00 Sunday
(May 27-29) due to a building power outage. There will also be
a power outage (of unknown duration) Saturday June 11th. I've
also been told that there may be other, briefer power outages as
construction proceeds next door.
This power outage means the FTP, Gopher, Web, and e-mail services
(ftp.bchs.uh.edu, gopher.bchs.uh,edu, www.bchs.uh.edu,
and gene-server at bchs.uh.edu) will not be available. Mail messages will
either be stored by your home system until the Gene-Server
comes back up or bounced back to you.
I apologize for the short notice; we will hopefully know a little
sooner next time!
