MapMaker on OpenVMS 5.5-2

Hello BioSoft gurus -

Has anybody successfully ported the MapMaker package from Whitehead Institute
to OpenVMS 5.5-2?  We have had several requests from our users to get the
programs (MapMaker /EXP 3.0 and /QTL 1.1) online.  However, we are running into
many problems trying to port the programs to the only system we have available,
a VAX VMS cluster.  The C compiler complains after reading system.h and memlib,
something about #endif.  Obviously, I'm not the systems person trying to do the
port, that's my boss, and she asked me to post to the net for advice.  Please
contact either of us if you can offer any assistance.
