Announcement of the SRSWWW Browser for Databanks in Molecular Biology
</TITLE>
<A HREF="http://www.embl-heidelberg.de/srs/srsc">
There is now a new system for searching more than 20 molecular biology
databanks (EMBL, SwissProt, PIR, PDB, Prosite ...).
Several fields that cover most, if not all, of the annotation can be
searched (ID, Keywords, Authors, ...). The search word may contain any
number of wildcards. For entries in sequence databanks the date and
sequence length is now indexed and the retrieval of ranges is
possible.
Individual entries are connected by hypertext links using explicit references,
or by link-indices. The link indices use mostly the explicit references
but make links bidirectional and moreover were combined to build a network
where navigation from any databank to any other is possible.
It is possible to obtain for each indexed databank detailed information about
the indexes and the links.
