Dear Netters,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what software can generate
the two-dimensional displays of amino acid sequence that one often sees
published. The depictions that I am thinking of have the conserved residues
enclosed in circles, the nonconserved residues enclosed in squares,
the helical domains are given in sets of diagonal triplets, and
transmembrane domains are shown as sets of parallel helical sequences.
Is there software around that can generate these figures or are they
simply done by brute force, using a MacIntosh? Any leads to such
software would be appreciated.
