Again, to avoid misunderstandigs, I am in full favour of networks. We use
them heavily ourselves. But, as long as we stay local/campus/national, we
don't need to go _inter_national. The longer the distance and the higher
the bandwidth the less attractive the cost are if you can provide similar
services locally. So what we really need is a more intelligent technology
which uses local resources as much as possible.
