I'm not sure all of what you have available, but if you use Mosaic,
either in windows or on the mainframe you can do BLAST searches on the
web. The URL is http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. Once you get there just
go to database searching and click on the BLAST search option. I've
been using the www BLAST server lately and find it incredibly easy to
use, and it should get around your problem of having to only work in
DOS.
