I found a similar result when playing with FreeCell. The answer on my
machine seemed to be an incompatibility between FreeCell and the video
driver on my machine. My Actix S3/928 video card was the problem. Try
loading a plain generic VGA driver for Windows, and see if the problem
goes away. This will tell you whether the problem is really the system or
just a buggy video driver.
